Introducing The Library Card and a Big Update to Extra Points Library
The free Extra Points newsletter, sharing news and insights from the leading contract directory for college sports.

Good morning, and thanks for spending part of your day with Extra Points. I’m Sam Weber, our VP of Marketing here at Extra Points, and I’m excited to welcome you to our second newsletter publication, The Library Card.
What’s in it for you?
We’re writing The Library Card to give you the inside scoop on the most interesting data, deals, and decision-making information within the Extra Points Library, the leading contract directory in college sports.
Remember when Extra Points shared the Kennesaw State Head Coaching applicants who cited their experience playing College Football 25? You’ll get even more reporting like that right here.
On that note – we’re excited to share one of the biggest updates to Extra Points Library yet.
Today, we’ve launched a new feature, making Library more useful than ever before. You can now seamlessly sort and compare financial information by school, conference, year, and more. It is the easiest way to compare athletic department revenue and expenses from school to school.
With 156 FRS reports from 2024 and 177 from 2023, users can view athletic department financial records and benchmark total revenue and expenses, including individual line items like ticket sales and media rights revenue, recruiting expenses, coaching salaries and bonuses, and much more.

Our latest update to Library enables you to view and sort financial
information from hundreds of college athletic departments
This tool will make it easier for a user to benchmark one school against conference or aspirational peers, track down national ticket sale data, and answer other important questions.
We’ll continue to update these charts as we get more FRS reports. If you have a budget that we’re missing, send it to us at [email protected], and we’d be happy to give you discounted Library access.
What else can you expect from The Library Card?
We’ll keep you up-to-date on the new documents we’ve added to Library. Expect to see a steady drip of itemized athletic department budgets, FRS reports, apparel deals, coach contracts, vendor agreements, and more. This tool exists to help industry professionals and athletics administrators get the best data possible to make the most informed decisions, and we’re constantly on the hunt for new, valuable documents.
Our database now has over 6,000 documents, and it’s growing every week. This newsletter will share the new, interesting documents we add to Library.

The Scoop: We (finally) secured a revenue-share agreement.
As you probably already know, the House vs. NCAA settlement permits schools to pay players directly for their NIL rights. Rev-share will likely begin this July, and we’ve been FOIA-ing like crazy to gain access to some of these agreements.
We finally got a hit this week when we received 6 and 12-month agreements from the University of Washington and the University of Minnesota. We have requests out to 20+ institutions for these agreements, so Library customers can expect to see more rev-share documents in the coming weeks. (You’re also welcome to pass any along to [email protected])

Revenue Sharing agreements are now available in Extra Points Library
Schools look to cover themselves on future legal action, transfer risks
There’s a lot to chew on in these agreements; the most interesting inclusions (to me) are those that 1.) limit school risk for future liability and 2.) spell out what occurs when an athlete transfers.

The Limitation of Liability in the University of Washington’s agreement lays out, in no uncertain terms, that the school, NCAA, Conference, etc, will NOT be liable for future damages of any kind.

Similarly, the agreement includes definitive language that the institution has no further obligation to pay the athlete once they enter the transfer portal or transfers. Here’s what caught my eye:
“If Athlete transfers or enters the transfer portal prior to the end of a Consideration Period set forth in Annex A, the Athlete will:
(a) reimburse, or cause the transferee institution to reimburse, the Institution a prorated portion of the Consideration, equal to the amount paid by the Institution for the remainder of the Consideration Period; and (b) pay or cause the transferee institution to pay, as liquidated damages, the remainder of the Consideration not paid under Section 3(a) above.”
So under this agreement, transferring athletes – or, more likely, the school they transfer to – will be on the hook to pay back the school they transfer from. Will this get pushback from player representation? Time will tell.
These documents are now available to all Library customers. For any athletic administrators, GMs, agents, etc, who might find this valuable, you can get started here or send us a message at [email protected].
Thanks for joining us for the Library Card’s maiden voyage, everybody.
We plan to publish a few times each month. In the meantime, let us know what documents you would find interesting, and we’ll do our best to gain access.
