New Contracts and Library Updates for 2026
Here's what is new, and what's coming soon, for Extra Points Library
Good morning, friends, it’s Matt.
I know you’re all super busy heading into the holidays. But before we all close our laptops for the year, I wanted to share a few updates about what we’ve been adding to Extra Points Library over the last few weeks, and what you can expect going into 2026:
What’s new? Coaching contracts, additional equipment PDFs, and more:
The biggest hires in this cycle’s coaching carousel have mostly been made (looking at you, Michigan), but there are still plenty of new updates every week. We’re in the process of trying to add updated contracts for not just the new hires across FBS and FCS, but for folks who have signed extensions from this cycle.
As of today, we have the new contracts/term sheets uploaded for Pat Fitzgerald (Michigan State), Lane Kiffin (LSU), Billy Napier (JMU), JaMarcus Shepard (Oregon State), Brennan Marion (Colorado), Collin Klein (Kansas State), Eric Morris (Oklahoma State), Jason Candle (UConn), Will Stein (Kentucky), Ryan Silverfield (Arkansas), Pete Golding (Ole Miss), Marshall Faulk (Southern) and Jimmy Rogers (Iowa State).

If you have stuff we’re missing, by all means, please send it along to [email protected]. I’m happy to give free/discounted access to Library in exchange for stuff we don’t have, or to trade PDFs. We’re also adding stuff every day.
We’re also trying to add depth to our event contracts, especially as more schools look to book concerts or other major events for their stadiums to earn more revenue. We have event deals involving the Savannah Bananas, Hot Wheels Monster Trucks and more currently in the database, and have requests out for rodeo events, international soccer, and much more.
We’re also adding more game contracts, with a particular focus on basketball MTEs (like the Players Era Festival), international travel, but also a few game contracts for other sports, like baseball and volleyball. I don’t anticipate us ever adding 4,000 baseball contracts to this database or anything (unless that’s what you guys actually want, in which case, I’ll fire up the FOIAmobile), but I think we can add enough to help folks understand how guarantees and travel obligations work for other sports.
What are we hoping to add or change for 2026?
First, I want to point out that we’ve just wrapped up our first year with Extra Points Library. We’ve learned a ton about software development and open records research, and we’ve also made a lot of updates and changes to the core Library product. Larger updates over the last few months have included stuff like
Our “Salaries Tab”, which allows users to look up salaries for every single job in an athletic department, from accountants to chefs to athletic trainers
Allowing users to sort MFRS data by sport, conference, and team in our Finances tab
Our new vendor tab, which currently shows when athletic apparel deals end
Growing our document database to well over 8,000 documents across D-I and D-II
But we’re not done, and we know you want more out of the tool as well. So here are a few areas where we’re focusing on in early 2026
We want to create a slimmed-down version of Library, priced for consumers. For athletic departments, consulting companies or academic research teams, we feel our current pricing is very competitive. But for folks who are curious about a few specific documents, but don’t need to compare data across 30 different PDFs for work, we want to offer a lower-priced option. We’ve been working on this for the last several weeks and plan to have something ready by early 2026.
The FY25 MFRS reports should be ready by the middle of January, and we’ll have a huge FOIA-push to collect that information, along with updated contracts across athletic departments, as quickly as we can. We’ve built some new tools and learned some tricks to hopefully help us get this information faster than we did in 2025
We’re also looking at potentially making more significant technical changes to Library to help it load faster, look cleaner and compare data more easily.
One of the benefits of working with a smaller company is that we can move faster and build features that you want. If you’re a current (or future) Library user and have feature or document requests, just drop me a line.
As a reminder, we’re also updating the pricing for standard EPL packages, starting Jan 1, 2026. That new pricing will be:
An annual EPL license will cost $2,999/year
Monthly EPL licenses will cost $299/mo.
We will continue to offer discount pricing if EPL is purchased through the conference level, or when it is bundled with Extra Points Classroom across a university. We also offer newsroom discounts for all of our packages.
Thanks for supporting Extra Points Library. Personally, I think this is one of the coolest things we do around here. I’m happy with how 2025 went, but believe we have some real momentum heading into the new years. I can’t wait to share it all with you.
Have a great holiday season, and we’ll see you soon!
