New to Library: Football feasibility studies
We recently added football feasibility studies for 8 institutions. Performed by top consulting firms, the studies break down the options available for schools interested in adding football to their athletic department. They provide cost/benefit analysis, financial projections, market interest and opportunity, while outlining associated risks for the institution. There’s a lot to chew on, including fascinating insight into the business of college sports.
The studies in Library include schools who opted to add football, like Georgia State, and several who did not, including Cleveland State, Florida Gulf Coast, New Orleans, and Winthrop.

The decision to add football is a big one for any institution. These studies detail the variables that play a role in each schools’ decision. Unsurprisingly, money sits at the center of the analysis, but factors like stadium construction and athletic department expansion to comply with Title IX also play a major role.
For administrators, departments, or consultancies considering their own feasibility studies, these documents provide a true comparison work product to prepare.
Do you have a feasibility study that you’d be willing to share? We would love to provide a discount to Library for institutions or individuals who contribute to our database.
