Who wants to beta test Extra Points Library 2.0?
We're making HUGE changes, and we'd love your thoughts
Good morning friends, I’ve got some big news.
We are in the process of finishing up a massive update to the Extra Points Library, easily the biggest update we’ve done since the tool launched in the Fall of 2024.
As the current version of EPL has grown to well north of 10,000 total documents, we’ve noticed that the search function can be slow and clumsy. It can be harder to compare data across documents, or to find exactly the information you’re looking for.
This update will involve completely changing the back-end that operates EPL, throwing up an entirely new user interface, fixing of many of the quality-of-life hiccups that you’ve flagged, and adding several new features that many of you have asked for, such as improved functionality around game contracts.
I don’t want to spoil everything here, since the update technically isn’t finished yet. But let me share a few screenshots to hopefully get you excited:

Pretty cool so far, right?
Before we share our new version of Extra Points Library with the world, we want to have a few folks beta test our system. That way, we can make sure our UX/UI makes sense for the folks who actually use our tools, that our new features are working correctly, and we haven’t missed anything important.
If you would like to beta test Extra Points Library 2.0, please send an email to [email protected].
We are particularly interested in beta testers who
Already use EPL
Are on the fence about buying a license for EPL and want to give it a spin before committing
Work in college athletics, higher education, news media or related fields
We can take a fan or two (especially fans who have professional backgrounds in data science, programming, UX/UI, etc) but we’re really interested in hearing from reporters, ADs, lawyers, professors, consultants and the type of folks who are already in the EPL weeds.
All we ask is that after using the product, you share your feedback with us. What you liked and didn’t like. What worked and what might need a bit more work. That feedback will help make our final product better, and help us get to a formal release faster.
Our goal is to release the newest version of EPL in the next few weeks. I’ll share more specific information about new features and changes once we get closer to launch.
Thanks! I’ll see you again soon.
